Safe Tree Removal in Montreal and on the South Shore

A tree that’s dead, diseased, or too dangerous to leave standing—it happens. And it’s rarely an easy decision to make. We understand that. At Élagage Monté, we work with you respectfully, assess the situation honestly, and if felling is truly the best option, we do it cleanly and safely, right down to the last chip.

When should you consider cutting down a tree?

Before any tree is cut down, our arborist inspects the tree and determines whether there is an alternative (reduction pruning, bracing, treatment).

A security operation, even in a confined space

Many trees in Montreal grow near houses, between fences, near power lines, or above sheds. Don’t worry: our teams are trained in what’s known as “section-by-section” tree removal. Each branch, and then each section of the trunk, is lowered by rope in a controlled manner. No free falls, no collateral damage.

Do you need a permit?

Several municipalities in Greater Montreal require a permit before a tree can be cut down. We are familiar with local regulations and can guide you through the process: which form to fill out, what documentation to provide, and which trees are protected. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Cleaning and Residues

After the trees are cut down, we chip the branches on site, collect the wood, and clean up the area. Want to keep the wood for your fireplace? No problem—we’ll cut it into logs for you. Prefer to have it all removed? We’ll take care of it.
